I remember the shit out of this show. Leave it to a kid in his bedroom to introduce actual music to MTV. This guy used to have awesome guests and bands that never got airtime just hanging out in his bedroom. His interview with Jackie Chan was great too. |

My neighbor and I don't look too overweight but holy shit we need to fix some issues. There's no way I can fit any mech parts with weight like this. I mean, I can still run away from things, I've found, but honestly.
I've been longing for the late 90's. The NYC friends before they were enemies, the early anime on VHS tapes, cyberpunk and D&D conversations, eating takeout from Lucky Star when the skies turned gray, the train in the rain. My friends were geeks but I was just a nerd. And it looks like I'm changing that now. I haven't given up on film but I hate my writing, I'm not getting anything done, and the only thing I learned in film school was that you didn't need film school to make movies. If I was gonna be stuck doing shit jobs for shit people in shit towns, regardless, I would've studied being a PC Tech after high school. What a waste these past 4 years have been but I'm working on it. I'm studying for my A+ and it's going good. Looking to get it before September.
Got the Ace Combat 3 soundtrack on. That might be what's making me nostalgic.
Also, 65 hours this week, 49 the next. Alternating. Hate this job. lol |

I have 3 uses for my LJ.
1. Things I can't say in comments to other people on Facebook or with only 140 characters on Twitter, I place here. Rants, mission statements, tirades. But, I think I'm wasting my time lamenting to the anonymous. More and more of you have already left and the majority who have stayed post for the same reasons I do.
2. Reviewing movies with a line or two for each.
Videodrome: quite awesome. glad i used existenz as my intro to cronenberg. long live the new flesh.
Croupier: awesome. great writing. clive owen always looked good, hasn't he?

People have had dinners at Masa in NYC four times the amount of my monthly rent. And I long to eat $200 burgers and give the leftovers to people I don't know. But, right now, in Odessa, TX, I'm ok with living in the crackhouses, begging for my 7-11 job back. I've got neighbors who want to hook me up with TVs, cars, and women on the cheap. I couldn't buy those kind of stories. |

Oh god you guys, Odessa is a book. Why I am so writer's block with this much shit going down? I mean, you know my past entry about the mercenary/tkd dojo/robberies? I didn't even mention the non-friends my mom met that have invaded my life. Well, check this: tomorrow, KMID re-enters the picture because they want to size me up for an MCO gig! busy busy busy. Honestly, it's great that Jacquel and Josh are out of my life now because I would've been playing Left 4 Dead instead of meeting the people I've got making my time here pretty interesting. I'm loving this. lol.
Best thing I did in Austin: smoke hash in an illegally owned sportscar doing 75 on the highway as a mexican dude with 2 working names (driving while baked) belts out Kanye West lyrics.
The first 40 days in Odessa: Driver's license, TABC, job across the street, 2 interviews with a merc, 2 at a TV station, witnessed a crime, might join a dojo. |

Sometimes you have no idea how depressed you are until you start writing a novel. You think you write yourself in as the hero with some noticable tweaks and then you're a bit surprised to find out that the villain is everything about you. And then they both fight and you don't know who you want to win but something happens and you end up writing your whole life story. I didn't even realize I'd been crying for at least half hour while I was writing about this character crying. I ended up giving him a cathartic end despite how negative a turn his quest seems to have gone in and now I'm reading it all back, thinking "fuck, I'm turning 26 years old tomorrow and I just want a hug." lol |

You know, I should be inspired now that I'm working at a 7-11 in west Texas across the street from ghetto housing the police monitors 24/7. The people who work at this store, the people who shop at this store, I've been doing the disgusting work of counting their teeth. I work with a guy named Oscar who's every Mexican stereotype but he's from White Plains. That means you can't trust him. And you shouldn't attempt to. He's already tried to fuck me over once and this was my second day.
We got this one girl, Brittany (are you surprised yet?), who brings in her mom, drunk and staggering in a Harley choppers shirt, and they get nothing but booze and sugar and she gives me shit. Pays for things with pennies to bust my chops or maybe get me in the mood to eat her out or whatever the girls here do. God, they're all ugly and fucking stupid here. Speaking of, I met Devon (Hood Ninja from the IHOP) and Brittany, though apparently married, is his sidebitch. He came in yesterday covered in his brother's blood after an argument. I thought that was pretty funny. Anyway, I put this girl in her place every time. "Drink vinegar if you're gonna get that much water, girl. It's unpleasant but it'll clean you. Also, you're 7 cents short." I think she likes me now.
Her mom's friend is a hooker who services my building (how about now, are you surprised?) and tries to get me to take care of her debts of like 2-3 cents at a time. Since the few wiggers forget their change, I just toss one or two nickels in there for her so as to avoid conflict. She asked me if I had an old lady and I almost cried because I live in Texas and she honestly asked me that question. I said no but she saw me enter my house... There's no future for a 7-11 clerk in west Texas. I'm not talking about the occupation, I'm talking about the person. I'm going to save up for a car and attack Midland retail stores like Best Buy so I can run credit cards twice by accident. And then I'm heading out west-er.
Maybe I can't write anything good here because I'm in a dim, stuffy 505 sq. ft. apt still sleeping on the floor, doing a job you can't be proud of. God, I hope I publish something before I die. Honestly, having talent and artistic integrity is great but Van Gogh was poor. Broke. Not my thing, man. I'm gonna go listen to Puya and hang out on my stoop with an Olde English, bumming cigarillos off of ex-cons. See you, my friends. |

Some rogue electrician turned off our power and put a SERVICE DISCONNECT sticker on our box even though we've paid for our electricity and the office was oblivious. If I find out that a certain redneck's electrician husband had something to do with this... well, I won't be very pleased to say the least and someone's day will be ruined if just that. I made the rounds of my building and saw the box for my apt wide open so I took it upon myself to let there be light.
But, enough of being negative, I'd done a 2nd phone post because it had been 2.5 hours since the electricity went out. In it, I gave out my phone number so people could call me up and say hello. No need for that anymore but if you got it and feel like giving me a ring, do so. ^_^ |
